How to enable Windows Search Service in Windows Server 2008
January 7th, 2009In Windows Server 2008, Outlook 2007 tells me that I need to enable Windows Search Service to be able to search thru email instantly. I could not figure out how to enable the same. Please help.

The Windows Search Service can be installed by enabling it under the File Services Role.
These are the steps to add and enable the Windows Search Service in Windows Server 2008:
- Start Server Manager
- Click on Roles in the left navigation pane
- Select Add Role in the Roles Summary pane to the right
- Select the File Services role and click Next
- Select the Windows Search role service
Finish the wizard and now you should have the Windows Search service up and running.

December 23rd, 2008Hi, I’ve HP Compaq nx6125 notebook running Windows Vista. It has a broadcom bluetooth device. I keep getting “Bluetooth Peripheral Device” driver installation notice. I have not any driver CD for my Bluetooth device. What to do?

How to add a website link to the Start menu
December 16th, 2008- Open your favorite web browser.
- Go to the website that you want to add to the Start menu.
- In the address bar click and hold the favicon (the small icon just to the left of the URL).
- Drag the icon to your Start button and it will start showing up in your Start menu.
How to add a new folder to MS Outlook folder list
December 15th, 2008- Right-click the main (parent) folder that you want to create the folder in.
- Click “New Folder…” from the menu that appears.
- Enter the name you want to call the folder (in the “Name” text box).
- From the “Folder contains” drop-down menu, select what you want to put in the new folder.

December 14th, 2008- Open the tree view of your folders in Outlook.
- Collapse all folders so that you only see the top level folders.
- Right click on the top level folder and click Properties.
- Now click the Advanced button.
- In the field called Filename you have the full path to your PST.
NOTE: In recent versions of Outlook you can actually backup your data using the tool provided by Microsoft.
