Unable to enable Windows Vista’s Aero Interface?

I installed the Windows Vista and activated it. Everything is fine. The problem is I am unable to enable the Windows Aero/glass looks. I read in many forums online and they suggested to make a key in the registry. I did it but its of no use. I got Vista just for its Aero interface.

I’d first suggest you to check if your machine is Windows Vista capable. This will ensure if we meet all the requirements and it will also tell you any problems and their solutions. If the tool doesn’t find any problem and you still get the problem, leave a comment below and I will work with you to figure out the cause and the solution for the same.

    I Just finished building this computer, its got top of the line everything, and I’m actually quite proud of it. I was ready to install an old copy of Windows XP i had lying around when my dad shows up offering me a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate, How could i refuse?

    System specs (… :D)
    EVGA GeForce 8800GTS
    EVGA NForce 680i SLI
    Intel C2D E5300 (clocked at 3.5GHz)
    2 Gigs (one deffective and currently RMAed) PQI DDR2 667 5-5-5-15.

    And thats everything thats important, everything else is pretty standard..

    I’m rather terrified about messing around with registries. Wierd huh, I go into bios, fry my ram, and change crucial speeds about this computer, yet I’m afraid to change a few minor registries….

    I was really looking forward to this! but it totally wont let me enable it! T.T

    Windows Vista Business (activated)

    i have an intel GMA900 128mb card which is xddm (no WDDM DRIVER YET)

    Help , i want aero to work

    Follow the document. ensure the Themes and Display settings are correct. Then select the Vista option in Color settings!

    I AM RUNNING VISTA ULTIMATE EDITION.
    GRAPHIC CARD - VGA STANDARD GRAPHIC CARD.
    MOTHER BOARD - INTEL 82845.
    AERO THEME IS NOT AVAILABLE IN COLOR AND APPEARANCE AND IT COULD NOT BE ENABLED.
    PLEASE I NEED A SOLUTION FOR THIS OR GIVE ME ANY ALTERNATE SOLUTIONS.

    Robert, Intel has informed on their website that they will provide WDDM drivers for motherboard ranging from 945 series and above.

    And all the previous motherboards that were made before 945 cant be provided with WDDM drivers coz they have a few hardware limitations….

    So go for an upgrade of ur motherboard or for a good graphics card.. (there is no other way out)

    (softwares like windows blinds can give an aero effect upto an extent but we all know ….. Vista is Vista afterall )
