iPhone coming to India soon!!
May 6th, 2008
Yes its official.
Vodafone today announced it has signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone in ten of its markets around the globe. Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.
Speculation has it that they may launch the 2G version first to clear the stocks and only then think about launching the 3G version.
I just hope India will have 3G services soon and we will get to see a 3G iPhone. Once that happens I can evaluate it to see if it fits my needs.
Presently, I am pretty happy with my HTC Touch running on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6. It works like a charm
